Sunday is the first day of Fall, but it certainly isn't slowing down the number of activities available to check out! Stay off the couch and enjoy your weekend by stopping at some of these events.

The American Firehouse Tour comes to Chenango Valley State Park and the Pines Picnic Area on Friday at 7 pm. All ages welcome to this music event presented by the Chenango Forks Fire Company. Bring your chairs!

Also on Friday, the Endicott Elks, 619 Nanticoke Ave., hosts entertainment from Butch Neira from 8 to 11 pm. And the Harpursville United Methodist Church has a rummage and bake sale on Friday from 4 to 7 pm and Saturday with a bag sale from 9 am to noon.

Friday night at 6 pm, the first baptist church of Endicott, 1406 Monroe Street, hosts a family movie night! The film is "Unconditional". It's free and open to the public.

For bargains and food, how about these? The Owego Lions Club is hosting a chinese auction on Saturday at 9 Sheldon Guile Boulevard in Owego. Doors open at 6 pm. Refreshments and fun for the family! The West Chenango United Methodist Church, 433 Upper Stella Ireland rd in Binghamton, holds a chicken barbecue, rummage and bake sale on Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm.

To help a family in need, please visit this: A benefit, in memory of Tanya Williams Ross is Saturday at noon at Liberty Park, off Route 29 in Hallstead. There will be live music, chinese auction and more. Donations to offset funeral expenses are greatly accepted. Covered dish.

And also on Saturday, A healing mission will be held at St. Andrew's Church, 400 W. Wendell Street in Endicott, at 2:30 pm. Pre-register at 9 am that day or call the office. 785-6092. And a chicken and biscuit dinner at 4:30 pm at the Gibson Grange Hall #798 on Route 92 in Gelatt, PA. Take outs available.

I can't forget this! Our Savior Lutheran Church, 731 Hooper Rd in Endwell, has a Samson's Coffee House Saturday from 7 to 9 pm. Great live music and fellowship.

Sunday is busy too! There's a chicken barbecue at All Saints Church, 42 Harry L. Drive in JC,  at 10 am. And St. Michael's Carpathian Octoberfest is at the recreation hall, Clinton Street in Binghamton, at 11 am.

The Endicott Elks, 619 Nanticoke Ave, are busy Sunday with a flea market and chicken barbecue! Stop by between 8 am and 5 pm. Take outs for chicken available.
