  • The Binghamton Zoo at Ross Park will hold its first event of the season: Eggstravaganza this Saturday March 27th and Sunday March 28th from 12pm to 3pm, The animals will also be celebrating the holiday with Easter themed enrichment. Come see the animals as they experience new scents, food, and toys in the shape of Easter eggs and other themed items, plus you can meet the Zoo’s newest edition a prehensile-tailed porcupine, and meet one of the zoo’s bunnies in our lower zoo at the following times: 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Price is $6.00 for members and $8.00 for non-members.
  • Northern Broome Senior Center, 12 Strong’s Place, Whitney Point, will hold an Ice Cream Social with Elsa and Anna from Frozen on April 10th from 11 to 2PM. Tickets are $3 for kids and $5 for adults. Tickets must be purchased by April 1st. For more information, call 607-692-3405.
  • The Broome County Office of Aging will offer a proper footwear and cane and walker check on Wednesday, March 30th from 7:30AM to noon at the center court of Oakdale Mall, 601 Harry L. Drive, in Johnson City. Those 60 years of age or older qualify. Pre-registration is suggested. For more information, please call 778-2411.
  • On Thursday, March 31st, the JCC will be holding an informational session about summer camps at the JCC and year round after school programs. The event will be held in the JCC meeting room between 5 and 6:30PM. RSVP’s are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome as well.   • he Windsor High School Drama & Music Departments present their Annual Spring Musical: Shrek, The Musical; Friday April 1st at 7PM and Saturday April 2nd at 2:30PM and 7PM. $8 advanced reserved seating and $10 at the door. For more information call 655-8250.
  • The Saint Baldrick’s Foundation will be holding a head-shaving event to raise money to fight children’s cancer, April 3rd at the Candor Fire Station, 74 Owego Road, Candor.   • The Greene Central High School Footlights Club presents “Into the Woods” April 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the school auditorium. For show times and tickets go to show t i x 4 u dot com.
  • The CNY Maple Festival is looking for not-for-profits interested in sponsoring a contestant for their pancake eating contest on April 2nd. Just send a post card or letter to Pancake Eating Contest, P.O. Box 291, Marathon, New York 13803.
  • The Red Cross hosts a military family salute brunch on April 2nd at the American Legion, 118 Jensen Road, Vestal, from 10am until noon. Retired U.S. Army Sergeant Rick Yarosh will speak at the event. Please RSVP by calling 785-7207. The event is open to the public.
  • The Broome County Public Library holds a BARK-9 event on Saturday, April 2nd from 10am until noon. The program helps children improve their reading and communication skills by reading to registered therapy dogs. For more information call the library at 778-6456.
