52 Years ago this week we were introduced to this magical animal, and we found out that Bumbles bounce.

December 6, 1964 was the debut of this holiday classic, which tells the story of a misfit Reindeer and his ultra bright honker, that forces him to leave home, where he meets a group of misguided characters along the way, who are also trying to find a place to call home.
The special featured the voice of Burl Ives, who tells the story as a snowman.

I love this special and even though I have it on DVD, if I see it on television I will still watch it in real time just like the days of my youth.

Long before computer generated imagery, the story of Rudolph was told through stop motion animation, where you would move the small figures, take a picture, then move them again, take another picture and so on, I can't imagine how tedious that had to be.

Check out my Throwback Thursday memory, the wonderful classic 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer'

Watch the original TV special below and I added a few old GE trailers and commercials check out some of the things that were advertised back in those days..

Merry Christmas Everyone.
