Even though there's a chance for snow in the forecast tomorrow, Spring 2018 officially arrived at 12:15 p.m. today. It seems like every year as I get older, my patience with winter gets shorter and shorter. I don't mind winter, and I don't mind the snow, but once February rolls around on the calendar, and now March, I'm tired of the snow and want some mild temperatures.

I'm looking forward to the golf season and I'm also looking forward to yard work. Believe it or not, I don't mind doing it for the most part. I love sitting back with a cold beer and looking at the lawn minutes after I got done mowing it. I'm Also looking forward to those warm nights sitting around a fire on the patio at our house with some cold beers and good friends. I'm looking forward to going to a restaurant that has outdoor seating and enjoying lunch or dinner while sitting outside. I'm looking forward to firing up the grill and cooking steaks, or burgers, or fish.

If I live to be old enough to retire and can afford to do it, I want to become a snowbird. I would keep our house in Endicott and get a place in South Carolina. I would leave right after Halloween and come back mid-April or the beginning of May, depending on the weather. Of course, I would have to come back to town for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but other than that, I'll be down south golfing year round god willing.

But in the meantime, I don't think I'm asking too much. Come on Mother Nature, we've had three months of winter, now give us three months of spring.
