I am a huge fan of dollar stores. Well, the ones that don't have everything for a dollar actually. I go to DG every week for certain items and the savings add up.

First, I had to get over my "snobbiness". These aren't your Mom's stores! Many dollar stores carry brand names and the deals are unbeatable.

I have saved money on other categories too; like cold meds, cereals, juices and sodas, and greeting cards.   Holiday sections in dollar stores offer savings too, but you have to price compare.
