Ride on a Piece of History at Johnson City’s Carousel Day
The C. Fred Johnson Park Carousel is a historic gem that’s fun to ride, not just for the young but also for the young-at-heart. This incredible carousel has been part of Broome County history for almost 100 years!
The C. Fred Johnson Park Carousel is located at 98 CFJ Boulevard in Johnson City. This carousel and its pavilion were built in 1923 by the Allan Herschell Company and is one of six carousels donated to the citizens of Broome County by George F. Johnson. The C. Fred Johnson Park Carousel has the distinction of being listed on the National Register of Historic Places, to which it was added in 1992.
You and your family are invited to take in the wonder that is this grand and beautifully restored Allan Herschell Carousel #1 and its original pavilion during Johnson City Carousel Day on Saturday, July 29th.
Admission to Carousel Day is absolutely free and in addition to making some memories by riding the carousel, you and the kids will also enjoy loads of family themed activities from 10am-6pm.
