Picture a mass with nuns and the Pope in St. Peter's Square, a very reverent atmosphere. And Harleys and riders mixed in. Thousands of them. That was the scene on Sunday as Pope Frances celebrated the 110th birthday of Harley-Davidson with a blessing of the bikes.

It wasn't that many years ago that bikers were shunned and considered "undesirables", and here was the Pope blessing them. We've come a long way!

The one thing I wish had been different was the location. Yes, the Vatican is a nice place, but it's in Italy. It would've been nice for the blessing to take place in the good old US of A, the birthplace of Harley. Ok, two. The Pope coming in on a Harley instead of an open Jeep would've kicked butt.

I think this Pope is going to work out just fine.
