News of the Weird Runner Up: Canada Doesn’t Know The Leaf on Its Flag?

Northshorewx.com

Canada recently issued new currency in the form of plastic bills. So naturally, when creating something like this a Country would tend to use something like….the iconic Sugar Maple Leaf on its flag, right? Wrong! (You can plainly see the difference in the picture).

Botanist Sean Blaney noticed the leaf is actually a Norway Maple leaf! Oops! Blaney brought it to the attention of those in charge and they quickly responded with this: “It is not a Norway maple leaf. It is a stylized maple leaf and it is what it ought to be.”

Even I don’t buy that! This is the age of “it’s not my fault” afterall.
