It's official. My dumbphone has been retired. Onto the smartphone life, feeling like an idiot!

For years, I prided myself on being 'with' the times. In 1993, I got a spiffy Motorola bag phone and then I kept up with the times as the phones got smaller and fancier.  Since bag phones are now dinosaurs, Ebay is happy to list them. An example is here. When the first iPhone came out and it had to be 'updated' the next year, I jumped off the bandwagon.

Why in the world would I want to buy an expensive phone that would be obsolete in a year?  So, I stuck with my dumbphones. Until now. Verizon kind of pushed me into the modern era with their new plans.

My husband and I opened our packages last night and proceeded to realize that we need to read the manual. Too tedious for me, so I just jumped right in. After playing with it for a half hour, I suddenly didn't have any service. My first thought was "what the hell did Verizon do?" Then I saw the little airplane icon on the screen. How in the world did I put it in airplane mode?? I still don't know and to be honest, I don't know how I finally got it back in normal mode. I did a lot of button pushing.

The easy part was transferring my goodies from the dumbphone.  Take the mini card out and put it in my LG. Done!  Except....where the heck is my music? Another lesson for another day. Son of a.....

I'm sure once I get to know this phone I will be fine, but until then there will be much cursing!
