Goodwill Industries also provides free career counseling, skills training, and résumé prep services that help unlock opportunities for job seekers according to their website. With Goodwill's help, over 300 people find a job every day.

Over 2.1 million people have received services from Goodwill to grow their careers and other support-related services, 128,998 people have found employment through services provided by local Goodwills and 29,329 people earned new credentials and certificates with help from Goodwill.

Goodwill has a retail store and donation center that serves the Southern Tier of New York, as part of the Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey. The store is located in the campus Plaza, off the Vestal Parkway, Vestal.

Donating to Goodwill is a great thing to do. They accept many items, including clothing, household items, certain electronics, kitchen and decorative items, office and recreation supplies, some exercise equipment, bicycles, and even cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, and boats. Of course, all items must be in good condition and working order. Check with the store for details.

• Non-countertop appliances
• Ovens, refrigerators, grills, barbeques, treadmills
• Car seats and strollers
• Hazardous materials
