My wife and I have owned our home for several decades. Well, okay, the bank really owns it, but we are getting close to the day it will be paid off.

When we retire, we've thought about possibly selling and moving to a warmer climate, but I'm not sure. We love the area, we have family and friends here or at least close by, and it would take forever to clear out all the junk we have accumulated in our house over all those years.

The only gripe I have about this part of the country is winter cold, snow, and ice, but somehow I've dealt with it for several decades, and I'll probably continue to do so until I see that bright light in the sky. Or not. time will tell.

But, what if we were to sell our home?  Who would buy our little shack in the village? Would it be someone local or from out of the area? You know, there are people from beyond the Greater Binghamton area looking to buy a home here.

Well, as a matter of fact, Stacker.com has some statistics about that in a published article - 'People from these metros are looking to buy homes in Binghamton.'

According to the report:

Stacker compiled statistics about people in cities looking to buy homes in Binghamton using cross-market demand data from Realtor.com. View share is the percentage of views to Binghamton from each respective metro. Cross-market demand statistics are as of Q2 2023.

Where are these people from who are looking? Well, according to Stacker.com, here are the top 10 locations.

#10 - Boston, Massachusetts - view share is 1.60%
#9 - Poughkeepsie, New York - view share is 2.10%
#8 - Ithaca, New York - view share is 2.10%
#7 - Buffalo, New York - view share is 2.20%

Wow, look at the difference in view share from the top 9 versus #1 New York City. Does that surprise you? I didn't think so.
