I started using Facebook to connect with friends when I moved far away from them back in 2006. Then I really started using it, and playing games, when I was in bed for 15 days with the Swine Flu. What else was I going to do?

Since then, it seems there are countless 'why Facebook is good/bad for you' research published every month .

So, what is it? Well, on one hand it's good. It boosts self esteem, makes you laugh, can help you get a job, improves your heart rate, zaps stress and improves your love life. The list goes on.

On the other hand, it can be divisive if you are political, make you lazy, makes you under exercise, disrupts you routine, makes you spend more and eat more. This list goes on and on too.

The amazing thing is how many organizations actually study this. MIT, Glamour Magazine, Business Weekly, Woman's World, the University of Milan. They all want to know what it does to the average person. It's funny really.

One financial publisher says it can help you get a job, boost productivity (this one needs to be explained to me!) or can help you get promoted.

Then there is why it's good for kids. Really?

For me, it's good and bad. But mostly positive! I am in touch with people I miss. Then again, I sit in front of it a lot.

You get the picture. I don't think there is a straight answer. The question is: is it good or bad for you? Is there something you need it for, like me? Or does it annoy you? Do you even have a Facebook page?

Share your thoughts.
