iPads, iPhones and Technology to Catch Up on in 2013

I will admit that I am not a fan of technology. My friends spend a crazy amount of money to have these gadgets and then to use them (data plans anyone?). I can't see doing that. maybe I am stingy.

I did, however, break through in 2012 with my first smartphone purchase. It's ok, but really I only like the access to photos, playing mahjong and reading my email. I am the type of user that cell companies hate. Low data use!

However, after seeing the cool things that tablets can do, I am thinking about going a step further into the world of tech in 2013. Am I the only one who is this slow about "keeping up"?

Heck, my brother has two kids, the oldest is 7, and they both have laptops, iPhones and tablets now. Geez! I think that's a bit early and much, but my brother is all about keeping current. If you have a favorite tech gadget that you think I should get in 2013, share. I would love to know how advanced others are.
