I'm a fan of the show "Game of Thrones", as are millions of other people. Rabid fans, even. If you enjoy watching the show, but don't have HBO, it's of course presumed that you acquire the shows by other sources, like visiting a friend's house to watch. Or perhaps, you get the show through illegal sources, like torrenting, or streaming websites.

If the latter is true, I have some scary news for you. HBO knows, and they plan to come after you. HBO has been actively e-mailing internet service providers (Time Warner Cable, Cox Cable, etc), asking them to get in touch with their customers and subscribers who have illegally pirated the show through illegal means, and torrent websites.According to TorrentFreak, the are sending the following letters to a copyright protection company called Echelon IP:

As the owner of the IP address, HBO requests that [ISP] immediately contact the subscriber who was assigned the IP address at the date and time below with the details of this notice, and take the proper steps to prevent further downloading or sharing of unauthorized content and additional infringement notices.”

HBO has had success with this method, and will continue to go after those who are illegally acquiring their shows (specifically, "Game of Thrones"). So, be careful GoT fans, HBO is coming for you.
