I just read the statement "If you want a happy life, you have to be happy at work."  Considering that over 76 percent of Americans are not happy at work, how the heck do we do that??

Well, according to the Business School of Happiness, it is possible.

To me, the number one problem at work is morale. Let's face it, the culture of your company is never going to change so you have to work with what you've got.

1. To boost morale, spread a positive attitude. Just like negativity, it is contagious. Show respect to your co-workers and if they do something worth praise, praise them!

2. No "clicks". Moving in groups will always result in some feeling left out. To survive in the workplace, you have to be a 100 percent cohesive team.

3. For yourself - make a list of productive ways to improve your work flow and product.

4. Multi-tasking doesn't work. Focus on finishing one thing at a time. You will feel a sense of accomplishment this way.

5. Get sleep. A sleepy worker is a crabby worker.

6. Count your blessings. Always remember that your situation could be worse.
