Football Fans are Superstitious

Now that football is back, it's time to break out the game underwear, voodoo dolls and prepare to sit is a very specific position. That's right, now that football is back, so are our superstitions!

More than any game, footballs players and fans believe in rituals. When we root for our kids in school, we even get so serious that most of us recite a special saying or song.People even go so far as to make their pets part of the insanity.

Does it help? No, but it makes us feel more a part of the game. In some cases, it is highly amusing. Like my friend who spreads out all of his Steelers memorabilia throughout his man cave for the game. We are talking bobbleheads and troll dolls here!

I admit that I stay in the position I was in when my team made their first score. Weird, I know.

Mine happens to be the number one superstitious act by football fans. Here are some more:

1. having a lucky outfit

2. eating the perfect pre-game meal

3. the right music

4. clutching a token.
