Officials are investigating the cause of a fire at a home at 100 Crescent Drive in Kirkwood.  Crews from five fire departments responded to the call at about 8:15 p.m. November 12.

No one was home at the time and firefighters were able to get two cats out of the house safely.

Firefighters from Kirkwood, Five Mile Point, the Town of Binghamton, West Windsor and Conklin responded and had the fire knocked down in less than a half hour.

Officials say it appeared the blaze started in the back of the home.
