Time to share a secret that I have been keeping for a while. I hear things in my head.  LOUD things. And I will reveal an example.

Saturday night I woke with a start after hearing a 'bang'. It made me jump out of bed. Of course, I got up to investigate and found nothing. Tom didn't hear it either, so what was it?

I have my answer in the form of Exploding Head Syndrome. Really, that's what it's called! It is a sleep disorder that causes a person to hear a loud noise (roar, gunshot loud voices or screams) during sleep.  Naturally you wake up and feel anxious after the noise.

Here's the kicker: we create the noise in our head!

The bummer is there is no cause or cure, so I will have to keep hearing 'bangs' in my head.  At least I know I am not crazy.

Have you had Exploding Head Syndrome? Feel better knowing you aren't alone?
