Elton John and Madonna Make Up

It would appear that Elton John and Madonna have made up in the latest round of their long-running feud. According to the British tabloid the Sun, the two exchanged pleasantries while coincidentally having dinner at the same fancy restaurant in the south of France. Nice work if you can get it, as the old song goes.

“Elton goes to the Petite Maison for dinner fairly regularly as it’s near his villa in Mont Boron,” an unnamed source said. “But Madonna was also there for a bite before her show, which was down the road and didn’t start until around 10.30pm. Just as he was leaving, he went over to talk to Madonna and they were laughing and smiling. They even hugged each other.”

Last month, John slammed the pop star, saying she is “such a nightmare. Her career’s over…and she looks like a f—ing fairground stripper,” adding that Madonna made nasty remarks about Lady Gaga, who is godmother to John’s son. It was the latest in a long-running series of shots taken at Madonna by John over the years, usually dealing with her reliance on lip-syncing in concert.

Madonna, to her credit, said during her concert in Nice two weeks ago (Aug. 21) that she forgave him and dedicated a song to him, although it was hard to tell if she was being serious or sarcastic. Still, given the history between these two, we can’t expect the peace to last for long. Maybe the two should have their own reality show. Or go on the professional wrestling circuit. We’ll buy the popcorn.
