Classic Rock Christmas – David Bowie & Bing Crosby

As we close in on Christmas day, I thought it might be a good idea leading up to the day, to highlight some of the classic Christmas rock songs that we play this time of year on 99.1 The Whale.

For Thursday December 21st, let's take a look at Peace on Earth / Little Drummer Boy, sung by a pair that you'd never think would work - David Bowie and Bing Crosby.

Before they collaborated on this Christmas song, if you had asked anyone what there thoughts would be on a Bowie / Crosby duet, I imagine the response would be "You're crazy!"

But it happened. The song was recorded in 1977, released as a single in 1982 and is considered one of the all time Christmas song classics.
