My husband, Tom, and I were buying stocking stuffers for our Grandchildren yesterday and had a little disagreement. Do you wrap stocking stuffers or not?

I grew up getting big, fat, stuffed stockings. Except for big stuff, like coloring books and comic books, everything was wrapped. Every yo-yo, jax set (remember those?) bubble bath, crayon box was ripped open as we ate peanut butter crackers and drank chocolate milk.

Tom never wrapped the stuffers. Neither did his parents. Where's the fun in that? You see everything and there are no surprises! So, is it a regional tradition here that you don't wrap them?

Think about it, the kids (or adults like me) are so excited to open anything wrapped! By the time we get to the "meaty" presents, we are pretty happy and relaxed. There are no high expectations for what's in the big presents.

As we kids got older, Dad got us some practical presents along with the fun ones. trial size hygiene products are a good example. And pens and school supplies. I make Tom get me that kind of stuff and fun things to this day! Yes, I used the word "make". He doesn't like shopping.

How about answering the poll to help settle the argument?
