Binghamton Restaurant Week Adventure: Crepe Heaven

Binghamton Restaurant Week is awesome!! I say this because you discover new and delish foods, plus you get out of your dining rut.

My rut ended at Crepe Heaven, 217 Main Street. Oh my! Heaven is a perfect word for this eatery.

When you walk in, you feel comfy in a European atmosphere and are immediately greeted by either the owners or their staff. The servers are attentive and make sure you have a satisfying experience.

I brought my coworker Sherry, and we looked at the menu. It was hard to make a choice! The selection took us from Meatlovers to Cheese to Philly Cheese Steak crepes. Sherry went for the Meatlovers and I picked the Philly Cheese Steak. We also got the Peasant soup, which is like a shepherd's pie.

Did I mention the presentation was attractive? The soup was hot and flavorful. Then came the main course crepes.  We underestimated these! They were quite filling. Mine was loaded with peppers, onions, meat and cheese. It took me back to Philly's signature dish.

I am still trying to figure out how all that flavor was packed into a crepe. Sherry loved her Ricotta crepe. She couldn't get over how packed and delicious that was.

We were getting close to full when the irresistible desserts came out.  Wow. I had the jam filled crepe and chose strawberry, though you could choose from many types. Sherry had the raspberry cake. I didn't get a picture of that. Her fork was too fast!

We were thoroughly content at the end of our lunch.

Thanks to Binghamton Restaurant Week, I discovered a wonderful independent restaurant that our area should be proud to patronize. Like residents tend to do in any town, we take certain things for granted and stay inside our own box.

It's time to get out and explore the yummy options that await you in Binghamton. And don't forget to bring family or friends with you! Or take a break from work, get out and visit Crepe Heaven.
