Tomorrow I get to be in the Binghamton Holiday Parade for the very first time!
If I have learned nothing else in my almost 3 years in the Southern Tier, it's that this town has some great parades.

While I was thinking about the parade, it got me reminiscing about the first time I ever saw a local parade (at least one I remember). It was in Mt. Holly, NJ. We lived on the main street, so all we had to do was sit on our front porch.  I, however, ran to the curb and with wide eyes took in all the floats, fire trucks, bands and sidewalk vendors. Then there was Santa. Wow. Santa himself was in my little town!

This was the start of the Christmas Season. Finally.

I have to say that I remember many of the littlest details of that parade. I remember what my parents did for us afterwards too. We had chocolate milk, peanut butter crackers and watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Miracle on 34th Street and then college football. My Mom had all kinds of great food before our big dinner.

The point of all of this is: you are making special memories when you take the family to the Binghamton Holiday Parade. You may not know it, but you are. And every special memory adds up to a happier family.

See you at the parade!
