  • The Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier hosts “Beat the Blues” – a free vendor and crafter fair – on January 23rd from noon until five at Flashbacks, 93 State Street, Binghamton. For more information call 771-8888.
  • The Broome County Public Library hosts BARK-9 – a program that helps improve children’s reading and communication skills by having them read to therapy dogs – on Saturday, January 23rd from 10a.m. until noon. For more information call 778-6456.
  • There is a winter clothing sale at Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis Street, Endwell, on Friday, January 29th from nine until six, with a bag sale from three to six. Clothes donated by Fabulous Finds.
  • The Broome County Office for the Aging is a central source of information for seniors, their families, caregivers and community professionals. Call 778-2411.
  • “Raising Cash for the Stache” – a fundraising benefit to help offset medical expenses for Dick Giblin – is Saturday, January 30th from 2 to 6pm at the Binghamton K of C, 136 Park Ave. Fifteen dollars per person includes refreshments and live music. 50/50s and basket raffles too.   • The Maine American Legion Post 1390, Route 26, Maine, is having a “Chicken In the Snow” barbeque on Saturday, January 30th from noon until sold out. Cost is eight dollars for adults, five dollars for children, half chicken only is five dollars.
  • The Town of Union Parks and Recreation Department is holding a Father/Daughter Ball on Friday, February 5th from 7 to 9:30pm for girls ages six through twelve at The McKinley at Huron Campus, 1701 North Street, Endicott. For tickets and more information call 786-2970.
  • VFW Post 1536 is holding a Valley Dance on Friday, February 5th in their banquet room, 932 West Lockhart Street, Sayre. All are welcome. Small fee per person. Call 570-888-0145.
