  • American Legion Post 89, 118 South Jensen Road, Vestal, invites all to the “Hope For Lisa Welch Benefit” on January 16th from noon until 6. Spaghetti & Meatball dinner, raffles, 50/50, DJ and more! Money raised will help Lisa in her battle with ovarian cancer.
  • Main American Legion Post 1390, Route 26, Maine, is holding an all you can eat chicken and biscuit dinner, January 16th from 4 to 7pm. Adults eight dollars; children 6 through 12 four dollars; children five and under are free.

  • Broome County Office for Aging invites all caregivers to attend “Downsize, De-Clutter, and Reorganize” a presentation offering tips to a de-cluttered home, Tuesday, January 19th, from 2:30 to 3:30pm at the Broome County Library, 185 Court Street, Binghamton. For more information call 778-2411.
  • The Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier hosts “Beat the Blues” – a free vendor and crafter fair – on January 23rd from noon until five at Flashbacks, 93 State Street, Binghamton. For more information call 771-8888.
  • The Broome County Public Library hosts BARK-9 – a program that helps improve children’s reading and communication skills by having them read to therapy dogs – on Saturday, January 23rd from 10a.m. until noon. For more information call 778-6456.
  • There is a winter clothing sale at Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis Street, Endwell, on Friday, January 29th from nine until six, with a bag sale from three to six. Clothes donated by Fabulous Finds.
