Southern Tier Joint Ranks Among the Best Burgers in New York State

Where's the beef? Where's the best beef served in New York State? Well, the New York State Beef Council has the answer to that question in a recent article - 2024 Best New York Burger Top 10.

All ten are from regions located in Upstate New York, so take that, Downstate New York. We have better burgers than Downstate does, period. Now, I'm sure you would agree with me that in the Broome, Tioga, and Chenango County areas, we have some great places that serve up a really good burger.

But, none of those places show up on this top 10 New York list. And that's disappointing. However, one Southern Tier place made it on the top 10 list. It's located in my hometown of Corning - Butcher's Son on Market Street. I have not been there but must check it out the next time I go home to visit my family.

Congratulations to them, although I'd bet they would be happier if the New York State Beef Council had listed their name correctly. They list it as Butcher & Sons. Oh, well, kind of close, I guess.

Two other places in the top 10 that are not far from Binghamton include 317 @ Montgomery and Ale & Angus, both located in Syracuse.

I thought it would be worth asking residents in Broome, Tioga, and Chenango Counties, what one local place they consider, makes the best burger. Maybe as good or better than any of the top 10 from the Beef Council list.
