The Turkey leftovers are gone, the holiday decorations are popping out, and before the first snow storm hits, alternate street parking is in effect for Binghamton and Johnson City residents.

The rules will remain in effect in the City of Binghamton through mid-March.
The alternate parking in the Village is from December 1 to April 1.

Binghamton and Johnson City residents will park on the even side of the street on even calendar days until 4:59pm on that day. (example: December 1st park on the side of the street that has the odd numbed houses until 4:59pm)

After 5pm the rule is 'Park for Tomorrow' (example: December 1st at 5pm, park for tomorrow which is December 2nd so move your vehicle to the even side of the street)

In the Village there will be some streets marked as 'Red-Line Streets' which will be designated as 'Snow Emergency Routes' parking will be prohibited on those streets following a two inch or more snowfall.

There may be some leniency the first few days with warning tickets being issued, but it's best to comply with the laws right away to avoid any tickets.

In the Village of Endicott, the code states that the parking of vehicles is prohibited on all Village streets and municipal parking lots from December 1 to April 1 between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., except on those streets or parts of streets or locations in municipal lots that are posted parking permitted between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. and parking in those locations is prohibited between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. after 3 inches or more of snow fall and vehicles parked in those locations must be moved for snow removal or they may be towed.
