Have you ever wanted to be in the movies? When I was growing up, I thought about it. To be a rich and famous person would be the perfect way to live life large.

Well, I never tried out to be an actor. I thought about being in a school play, but never took the leap. I did of course, jump at the chance to learn about radio. And here I am. Still not rich or famous, but I'm not complaining.

I don't know if I could be an actor anyway. I don't like being in front of a camera. For some reason, they make me nervous. If you make a mistake, everyone sees your mistake and you have nowhere to hide. On radio, I can just shut off the microphone when I make a mistake and pretend it never happened.

You may feel the same about being in front of a camera, but what if you had an opportunity to have your dog appear on camera for say, a movie? Well, according to Syracuse.com, there is that possibility.

The article mentions that the film company IMLD Productions Inc, will be filming in May around the Syracuse area for a movie titled 'I Love My Dad.' Not sure what the plot is, or who the director or cast are, but there is a casting call out for a dog to appear in the movie. Syracuse.com article mentions the film crew is looking for a Labrador or something similar, and is:

"...well-groomed, house-trained, friendly, even-tempered, experienced with social gatherings, and can sit on command."

The dog's owners will have certain qualifications to meet also, including flexible hours. I thought briefly about my Italian Greyhound taking a casting call. He is small, but he's 8 years old, and has the attention span of a gnat. I'm assuming that a gnat has no attention span.

So, if you are interested, according to the article in Syracuse.com:

"Send a photo of your dog with a brief introduction to both yourself and pet to ILMDsubmissions@gmail.com."

And good luck to you and your dog. May you both become rich and famous. Let me know how that turns out.
