Just in time for sizzling temperatures on Monday, one of the two Binghamton pools that had temporarily been closed is open once again.

City of Binghamton officials say the pool at Recreation Park in Binghamton is reopened. The Rec Park and Webster Street Park pools had been closed after a city employee tested positive for coronavirus.

The Webster Street Park pool will reopen on Monday, August 3, city officials say.

This is great news for people looking for a place to cool off on Monday. According to the National Weather Service, temperatures in the Binghamton area are soaring, with Monday's high temperature in Binghamton estimated at 93 degrees.

There is a Heat Advisory in effect for Broome, Tioga, Chenango, Otsego, Tompkins, and Cortland Counties.
