One Of Time Magazine World’s 100 Greatest Places Is Under A 3 Hour Drive
Time Magazine recently published a list of the World's 100 Greatest Places of 2021. I was pleased to find that there are a few places that I have visited in the past, both in the United States and around the world.
Edinburgh, Scotland is one of those places. I've been there three times and it's an amazing city. I toured Edinburgh Castle, walked around the city, and enjoyed a pint or two of Scottish beers at some of the city pubs.
Bath, England was also on the Time Magazine list. I visited Bath back in the 90s while on vacation. Well worth a visit. And of course, you'd expect other famous locations to be on the list, including Balise, Maldives, Athens, Cannes, Paris, Osaka, Sicily, Singapore, and many other amazing cities around the world.
In the United States, Memphis, Tennessee is on the list, home to the famous Graceland, Beale Street, and the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I had the pleasure of spending time at each just before the pandemic hit. It's a beautiful city.
Some other U.S. places on the Time Magazine top 100, include Las Vegas, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Sarasota, St. Louis, Seattle, and even a region under a three-hour drive from Binghamton - the Hudson Valley.
That may sound odd, but Time Magazine describes New York State's Hudson Valley as "known for its country charm and succulent agriculture." The opening of Legoland has helped make this area a popular place to visit and states that the Hudson Valley has seen an increase of people from New York City relocating during the pandemic.
