Authorities responded to Prospect Street in the Town of Dickinson at 8:12 a.m. December 15 to a report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian and taking off.

Deputies say, through witness accounts, they quickly identified the vehicle driven by 39-year-old Serenia Bowman and found it in a parking lot on Harry L. Drive in Johnson City with both Bowman and the pedestrian at the scene.

Investigators say Bowman is accused of driving over curbs and through yards following the man she was fighting with in her car after he got out of the vehicle and took off on foot.

She and the man allegedly continued their verbal argument in a driveway when Bowman is said to have hit the man with the vehicle, helped him get in back into the car and left the scene, hitting a street sign on the way.

The man was not seriously hurt.

Bowman is charged with felony reckless endangerment and misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment of property, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

She was sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
