The Bingjhamton Rumble Ponies named Lorenzo Bundy as their field manager for the 2020 season.  He replaces Kevin Boles who joined the New York Mets staff for the upcoming season.  Binghamton's new manager has a wealth of professional baseball experience.  Because he did not play in New York and was not part of the Mets organization fans may not know how much experience the new Binghamton manager has.

Bundy has over 30 seasons of professional baseball experience.  He was drafted out of James Madison University in 1977 in the 22nd round by the Texas Rangers. He played eight seasons of Minor League baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Montreal Expos organizations.  He also had a standout career playing in the Mexican League.

He got his first taste of managing and coaching in 1989 with the Montreal Expos organization.  In 1995 he joined the Florida Marlins as a hitting coach in the Florida State League with Brevard County.  From there Bundy joined the Colorado Rockies as their Bullpen Coach.  Then in 2002 he joined the Boston Red Sox and served as hitting coach at Triple A Pawtucket.

In 2004 he took the job as hitting coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks Triple A Tucson entry.  The 2008 season saw him manage the Dodgers Triple A Las Vegas 51s in the Paciific Coast League. In 2014 and 2015 he was the third base coach with the Los Angeles Dodgers and in 2016-17 he was the outfield and base running coach with the Miami Marlins.
