The holiday shopping season is pretty much upon us. There are some fun ways to shop and other events to take in throughout the Southern Tier this weekend. Let's get to it!

Choconut Center UMC, 5 Lewis Road in Binghamton, is having a Paddle Party Quarter Auction
on Friday with doors opening and preview at 6:15 and a 7 pm start.

Our Savior Lutheran Church, 731 Hooper Rd in Endwell, hosts a Samson Coffee House on Saturday from 7 to 9 pm. Gospel soloist Rachael Lawler performs, then When Oceans Rise. Light refreshment.

The Nimmonsburg United Methodist Church, 918 Upper Front Street in Binghamton, holds their holiday bazaar on Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm and November 22nd from 3 to 7 pm. There will be many crafts and holiday gift ideas plus lunch from 11 am to 2 pm on on Saturday.

The 3rd Annual VINES silent auction Fall Fundraiser is Saturday from 3 to 5:30 pm on Artisan Row 97-101 Court Street.  If you are crafty and creative and would like to make something for the event or just want more info, stop by Laveggio Roasteria at 101 Court Street.

The McDonough Fire Department is having their annual spaghetti dinner Friday night from 5 to 7:30 pm. it's a good way to get out of cooking!

Maine American Legion Post 1390 is having an all you can eat chicken and biscuit dinner Saturday from 4 to 7 pm.

The Jennie F. Snapp French Class Booster Club is having a Holiday Shopping Extravaganza on Saturday from 1 to 4 pm at the Middle School Gym. Lots of vendors will be on hand! There will also be prizes to win.

The Broome County Public Library Knitting Group holds a mini-class on Tuesday at 5:30 pm. Learn how to make a mini mitten ornament! To participate, call Sherry at 778-6423.

The 13th annual Taste of the Best to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Western Broome Family Center is Monday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 701 West Main Street in Endicott. The event begins at 7 pm and includes a silent and live auction. For info or to get tickets call 754-0225.

Binghamton After 5 dinner meeting is Tuesday at the Relief Pitcher, Conklin Rd in Binghamton. There will be a speaker, music and food! make reservations by calling 770-9142.

St. John's Ukranian Orthodox Church, 1 St. John Parkway in Johnson City, is having their holiday bake sale on November 22nd from 11 am to 1 pm. Advance orders are being taken for holubsti, potato pirohi, kolachky, paska bread and rolls. Call 729-1729.

Owego UMC, 261 Main Street in Owego, is hosting Death of a Doornail, a mystery dinner theater event on November 21 and 22 at 6 pm. To buy advance tickets call 687-2417.

National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week is being marked with a sleep out on Tuesday, Music for the Mission with "When Oceans Rise" and Jared Campbell on Tuesday plus Hoops for the Homeless Saturday through the 23rd. All events are at Davis College.
