Wow, summer is coming to a close, but not without a ton to keep us occupied. Dick's Sporting Goods Open aside, here are some activities to choose from.

Whether it's a dog show, grabbing some food or seeing the sights, there are choices galore!

The Endicott Elks Friday dinner features Apple/Maple pork loin this week. Servings are between 5 and 7 pm at the lodge, 619 Nanticoke Ave in Endicott.

The Hickories Circuit Dog Show at Apalachin Fireman's Field Day Grounds, Friday through Sunday. Bring the family to see 1000 dogs and over 100 breeds compete! There will be food, drinks and pet related vendors too. Runs 8 am to 4 pm each day with a $3 admission per car.

Harpursville United Methodist Church is having a yard sale on Saturday. It's 9 am to 2 pm and rain or shine. Find good deals!

There's a chicken barbecue at the First Presbyterian Church of JC, Main Street and Floral Ave., on Saturday. It's from 10 am til sold out, so get there early.

Also on Saturday, the first Triangle Tomato Festival is Saturday at the Triangle Fire Station. There will be demonstrations, food contests, and more! All are welcome. Benefits community charities.

Saturday, Zion Episcopal Church in Greene is hosting a concert by Jared Campbell with opening act Elissa Case for antibullying with proceeds benefiting Blessings in a Backpack program. Concert is at 10 North Chenango Street in Greene with doors opening at 6 pm.

There's a chicken barbecue and rummage sale on Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm at West Chenango United Methodist Church, 433 Upper Stella Ireland Road in Binghamton. Get there early for great bargains AND food!

Saturday is the Johnny Carr Superstar benefit and pig roast at the Belmar Pub. Goes from noon to 8 pm with raffles, live music, door prizes and more.

Endwell United Methodist Church's College Outreach is hosting outdoor worship at 9:30 am and a chicken barbecue from 11 am to 2 pm on Sunday. There will be music by Rick Pedro.

The Tioga Region Antique Auto club of America's Show and Flea Market is Sunday at Hickories Park in Owego. There will be lots of cars, vendors, face painting, food and music! For details or to enter a vehicle, visit tiogaregion.com.

The Leonardsville Fire Department is hosting a donation pancake breakfast for member Richard Shew who is battling a brain tumor. The breakfast is Sunday from 7 to 10:30 am.
