Harold Ramis, who most of us know as an actor, is the latest celebrity to pass away this year.

While diving through some of my favorite movies scenes of his on Youtube, it dawned on me: He wrote some of the most "classic" big screen comedies of the late 70's and 80's!

Here are his writer credits:

Stripes
Meatballs
The Ghostbuster Series (including the upcoming one)
Caddyshack
Animal House
Groundhog Day
Analyze This

I feel bad that we didn't celebrate his writing genius while he was alive. Can you imagine a world without the movie Groundhog Day? I can't! And where would we be without Stripes references ("lighten up Francis!") or Caddyshack lines ("Be the ball. Be the ball.")?

Thanks Harold for letting us laugh at your crass, yet honest, humor! rest in peace man.
