Welcome to National Zipper and Denim Day
What came first, denim or the zipper? Do we really care? Probably not.
According to the National Day Calendar, today is National Denim Day and National Zipper Day.
One of those items I like, and one of those items, I am not so fond of. I like denim. Most of the time, you'll find me wearing denim jeans in all types of colors. I even own a couple of denim shorts for the warmer months.
National Day Calendar notes that today is National Denim Day to raise awareness about all forms of sexual violence. The site notes that you can get more information by visiting www.denimdayinfo.org.
Now on to National Zipper Day. Yes, zippers are an amazing invention. I don't need to go into detail on how much they contribute to the fashion world. But I do have an issue with how they fail.
Maybe it's just me, but it seems that almost every jacket or hoodie I wear, the ziooer eventually breaks. One or two of the teeth fall off, rendering the 'zipping up' to fail where the tooth or teeth have come loose or fallen off. Why is that? It's not like I'm abusing zippers. Is there a simple fix? If so, I'm all ears...or all zippers.
