Before the Covid-19 outbreak I had a goatee. Over the past few years from time to time, I would let it grow into a full beard, and then when I grew tired of it, I would shave it back down into a goatee.

Once the Coronavirus started forcing shutdowns in mid March, I stopped shaving. I figured I wasn't really going anywhere so why bother. At one point towards the middle of April, I pulled out my beard trimmer to make sure the goatee and the beard or the same length.

Over the past few weeks I've been talking about shaving at least part of it off because I was starting to look like a mountain man. Never in my life have I let the hair on my neck grow that much before. It got to the point where when I was wearing a mask, it look like I had a furry little kitten on my neck.

Now that we are in Phase 3 of reopening the state, I thought it was a good time to trim the beard, especially being that I just got a haircut this weekend. Then I decided I would have some fun with it and see how I looked with various degrees of facial hair. I took pictures each step of the way and you can check those out below.

Chris and I have been together since the summer of 2001. And in all that time she's only seen my face clean shaven once years ago. I trimmed my goatee into a mustache, but I thought it looks cheesy so I went back to the goatee.

I don't know how long I will go with the clean-shaven look, but that's the way it is for now.
