Voters head to the polls to decide a number of local races and New York State propositions.

In the Binghamton area, Mayor races are being held in Binghamton and Johnson City as well as council seats in several municipalities and Broome County Clerk.

Voters in New York are being asked if there should be the first Constitutional Convention in 50 years while another amendment would allow judges to strip any public official convicted of corruption of their pensions. Polls are open  until 9 p.m.

The big votes in Pennsylvania involve judicial elections as well as a ballot question that could be a step toward property tax relief.

Pennsylvania’s high court will be controlled by Democrats, either in a 5 to 2 majority or 6 to 1.  There are also four seats to fill on Pennsylvania’s Superior Court and two in Commonwealth Court.
