The Renewal 2020 capital improvement project is expected to add a .25% to the tax rate.

Residents got to hear about the $28.9 million proposal during a public hearing.  The upgrades include improvements to safety and security, building systems, science labs and facilities to further Science, Technology, Engineering and Math program initiatives.  The district has been working on a plan for about two years following a state mandated survey of the condition of the Johnson City School buildings.

Details of the plans can be found at www.jcschools.com/District/renewal2020.html.

The vote will be held December 5 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Johnson City High School or Two Rivers Church Christfield Campus.
