A group organized to help the animal residents of Broome County following natural disasters over ten years ago is looking for help getting back up to speed.

The Broome County Animal Response Team (BCART) is calling for animal-loving volunteers.

An informational meeting will be held at the BCART facility at 3006 Wayne Street in Endwell July 9 at 9 a.m. and Tuesday July 12 at 6 p.m.

According to the county website, team members are trained in shelter setup and operations, animal care and handling, first aid, hygiene protocols and other aspects of disaster preparedness and response.

BCART provides rescue, transportation and emergency sheltering for animals during natural and human-made disasters and operates under the Broome County Department of Emergency Services and the New York State Division of Agriculture and Markets.
