A big fund raiser for the Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier is coming up in about a couple weeks and MHAST says it still needs volunteers to help out at the Color Run.

Over 3,000 are already signed up to participate the weekend of April 1st with the run happening on the SUNY Broome Community College campus April 2nd.

Runners and walkers go through the course while powdered color is tossed on them.

Volunteers are needed for a number of tasks, including throwing the colored corn starch at the runners.

To register, go to www.thecolorrun.com/binghamton and scroll down to the “volunteer” button.

You can hear more about the Color Run and work of the Mental Health Association Saturday at 12:10 p.m. on the weekly local public affairs program: Southern Tier Close Up on WNBF as MHAST spokeswoman Joanne Weir is the guest.

Questions about the color run can be directed to Weir by calling (607) 771-8888 (extension 336).
