The FBI, New York State Police and Johnson City Police are planning to give an update on the murder of a Johnson City restaurant owner who was shot to death as he closed up shop March 30 of 2019.

50-year-old Shakeel Kahn was shot several times as he locked up Halal Bites restaurant on Riverside Drive at Grand Avenue under the Route 201 overpass.

The briefing is set for 3:30 p.m. November 9.

Kahn, his wife and three children had moved to the Binghamton area from Brooklyn in 2018 as Kahn pursued his dream to own and operate his own restaurant.

In the days following the shooting, Village Police and other law enforcement agencies reported following up on numerous leads but reported no arrests.
