Authorities say two men have been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting at a Tioga County residence.

Investigators say the men are suspected of killing 32-year-old Brian Argro after they entered a home at 5 Dorothy Road in Apalachin early Thursday morning.

Argro had died by the time police and medics reached the residence in a normally-quiet Tioga Terrace neighborhood. A 20-year-old woman who also was in the home was not hurt.

According to New York State Police, the two suspects are from Pennsylvania. 40-year-old Curtis Cuttino and 46-year-old Michael McVicker have been charged with second-degree murder.

Bureau of Criminal Investigation Captain Scott Heggelke said there was a struggle after two men entered the home and shots were fired. He said Argro was found dead on the floor in a front room of the residence.

Argro was a former Binghamton resident. He had been on parole for a Broome County weapon possession conviction. He previously did prison time for a conviction on a count of criminal sale of a controlled substance.

Heggelke said Cuttino was taken into custody after a Tioga County sheriff's deputy found him walking along Route 434 in Vestal about 30 minutes after the incident was reported.

Someone gave McVicker a ride from Apalachin to Binghamton where he left on a bus. He was taken into custody without incident in Monticello.

Heggelke declined to say whether investigators have recovered any weapons linked to the killing. He also would not discuss a possible motive.
