Binghamton police have arrested a man and a woman after investigators confiscated cocaine and amphetamine during a search at a West Side apartment house.

Authorities say a warrant was executed Monday at 103 Walnut Street.

Two residents, 25-year-old Abdul Nixon and 23-year-old Aisha Nixon, were held overnight at the Binghamton police lockup.

Both have been charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Abdul Nixon also was charged with tampering with physical evidence, a felony.

Police say two grams of crack cocaine and about three grams of amphetamine were seized, along with drug packaging materials.

The suspects were arraigned in Binghamton City Court Tuesday morning and released.
