Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMond says he keeps getting questions about road closures.  In a statement, the sheriff says: “Let me be clear, all road remain open and there are no current travel restrictions.  However, it is recommended that travel be limited to maintaining or receiving essential services.”

At the beginning of the week, some New York State Police Officers reported receiving calls from people concerned that they may encounter road blocks or be arrested for being on the road.

Rumors were circulated of Amish farmers being turned back at the New York/Pennsylvania border and told to go back home.  A number of similar reports were attributed to Chemung County.

Authorities tell us there are no closed borders or road blocks at this point, but residents are being urged to stay home if at all possible to stop the spread of the virus.
