Multiple media sources are reporting that Tim Tebow is out for the remainder of this baseball season.  Tebow left Binghamton's game versus the Trenton Thunder on Thursday night after experiencing pain in his right hand during a plate appearance.  After being examined by the Binghamton medical staff he was placed on the disabled list on Saturday.  He then visited a hand specialist in New York today where he has been diagnosed  as having a broken hamate bone in his right hand.  Reports from ESPN and the New York Post report he will have surgery tomorrow and be sidelined for the rest of the season.  Recovery from this kind of surgery is usually six to eight weeks.

Tebow was playing his best baseball since joining the New York Mets organization last year.  With the Rumble Ponies Tebow was hitting .273 with six home runs and 36 runs batted in over 84 games. He was named to the Eastern League All-Star team and played as the designated hitter for the Eastern Division where he hit a double in his first at-bat.
