Throwback Thursday: Beany and Cecil [VIDEO]

It's Throwback Thursday and time to celebrate our childhood!

Do you remember Beany and Cecil? Cecil started out as a real hand puppet and then was turned into a cartoon series thanks to the genius of creator Bob Clampett.

It was originally shown in black and white, but along with The Flintstones and the Jetsons, was one of the first three color television shows on ABC. The show ran from 1962 to 1969 in the U.S. and earlier overseas.

A couple things strike me as odd watching this as an adult. What is up with Beany's voice?? Weird. And Uncle Captain is not exactly leader material. He always hides or cowers! Good thing Cecil is "normal".
