The Ocean Is Calling
Several times in past articles I have mentioned how I lead a sheltered life. Being a radio personality who has access to lots of live events to attend and places to go, you'd think I'd be all over that. Well when I was younger, I did.
Maybe as we age, staying home becomes more enjoyable? Well, I hope that's not the case with me, but I do find myself declining the offer to attend more live events, take trips or even visit friends and family as much as I used to.
It's not that I'm a hermit, I just enjoy being at home when not at work, or in the summertime, at spending my weekends and vacations at my camper.
But lately, I think the ocean has been calling my name. It's been almost 20 years since I've gone to visit beaches along the Atlantic Ocean or any ocean for that matter. I use to go every year to Delaware and Maryland beaches. The first time I saw the ocean, was at Ocean City, Maryland. I was 20 years old at the time. You should have seen my expression. It was the coolest thing I'd ever seen.
Maybe it's because I've had enough of winter, I've been looking at webcams from east coast beaches, dreaming about being there. Even in the winter, an ocean beach is inviting to me. There were several times I visited in the middle of winter. Temperatures weren't that bad, and there were plenty of places open to visit.
Maybe it's time to get back to the ocean for a visit. I think it's calling my name.
