‘The Last Exorcism’ Movie Review

I am a sucker for horror movies. I think it is for two very different reasons. 1) They are like bad car accidents. You should look away but you can't. and 2) Some of them are so bad that it then turns into a scary twisted comedy. I never know which outcome to expect!

I recently watched The Last Exorcism and was a little skeptical at first. The filming was shaky and for a moment I thought I might be watching the Blair Witch project but it wasn't that bad. Then come to find out, they filmed it that way because it is supposed to be a documentary about a priest who gives exorcism's but claims that exorcism doesn't even really exist and he is just doing a bunch of mumbo jumbo all the time.

Of course, the last person he chose to 'help' actually has a demon inside her. I won't ruin the rest but just when I had given up, the last ten minutes provided an interesting twist. I give this movie a 3 out of 5. No, it wasn't great but it was able to hold my attention unlike the documentary on Jeffery Dahmer I have tried to watch three times now! What do you think?
