This Saturday The Great Pumpkin flies in for Applefest in Greene. Actually at the Greene Flea and Farmers Market to be exact.

Saturday, September 29th, the United Methodist Church sponsors the 525th annual Applefest with a huge craft show, at the Ball Flats, with lots of vendors doling out the various foods that can be concocted with those little red things that hang from Johnny Appleseed's plantings.

There will be free shuttle service running to the Ball Flats from the Great American Plaza, on South Chenango Street. The event runs from 8am to 4pm. Which is actually the same time that the Greene Flea and Farmers Market runs at the Great American.

This is a great weekend to come to Greene, NY. Because the Applefest has been a long harvest tradition in our little hamlet. It brings towns people out to see one another. It also brings in many out of town guests for the day. And this year, you have two great things to do in Greene.

Start at the Great American and see all that the Flea and Farmers Market has for you. Take the free shuttle to the Ball Flats and take in Applefest. Then when you are done, come back to the Greene Flea and Farmers Market, the fastest growing outdoor market in the area.

That's where you will find fresh apples of all kinds, just picked and ready for your pies, or tummy's. Speaking of pies, if you want pumpkins for your pies, or for carving, the farmers market has got them too. Even big GINORMOUS ONES that weigh over 100 lbs.

If you haven't been to the Greene Flea and Farmers Market yet, this is a great opportunity to do so, this Saturday (September 29th), while heading to, or from, the Greene Applefest.
